Our forefathers never intended for the United States to be a Christian nation.

The Tea party Christian conservatives and some Americans believe our constitution was framed around the Church and America being a Christian nation. This is further from the truth and I will prove it.

First of all, our forefathers made sure our government did not favor Christianity when they adopted two Amendments. The First amendment which reads,

"Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances,

and the Fourteenth,

 " All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

These two Amendments took away Christianity as even thinking this was a Christian nation and put them on the same playing field as all others. Our forefathers new that for the United States to grow, they had to become the "melting pot" of the world. That is, to welcome and give freedom of religion to any one. This would bring many longing to be free to our country.

Many discussion has been discussed as to if our forefathers were even Christians. Many have determined they were not even while pretending to do so. I tend to believe the theorists for this reason.
Our forefathers knew that Christianity was still considering themselves, as today, as being the dominate religion by the Church. So what they did was play a trick on the Church to sought of fool them.  In 1864 they put "In God we Trust" on coins and in 1957 put on paper money.

This pleased the Church. But the Church  have not realized yet exactly what "In God we trust" really stood for. Again, our forefathers thought of the other religions and not Christianity. The trick was to use the word "God" rather than "Jesus" on our money. By using the word "God",  it would fit into every religion on the face of the earth no matter what and who they served. It's universal! God written with a Capital "G" or small "g" meant the same under the constitution and every religion can properly use our money comfortably.

Was our forefathers Christians? I tend to believe they were not. I guess that does it for Christian's  "National prayer day" which I never got into. Then again "prayer" is also universal.
No wonder our nation is accepting every act of sin. The constitution allows it. The United States "is not a Christian nation".

We are  going to the dogs. Literally! Score 2 for other religions and the government. Score "O"  for the Christians.
